Altajir Trust

Gives grants to postgraduates who can demonstrate that the chosen course of study promotes Islamic culture and benefits the wider Arab world. They should normally be of Arab nationality, be resident in an Arab country and not hold British residency.

The Al Tajir Trust is a UK charitable incorporated organisation (CIO), registered charity no. 1159070. Through its grants the Trust supports exhibitions, publications, educational activities and other programmes related to Muslim – Christian relations, to Islamic culture and history and to communities in need in the Middle East.

It has published books in English and Arabic furthering the understanding of the history and religions of the Middle East and the wider Islamic world. Until 2021 it ran a scholarship programme assisting students from the Middle East to access taught masters degrees at British universities.
