Scholarship Description

The agriculture industry is evolving at a rapid pace, with more career paths than ever before. To help you launch your career in the industry, the Farm Credit Foundation for Agricultural Advancement will be awarding at least $350,000 in scholarships, valued at up to $10,000 each in the coming academic year.

Scholarship Details

  • Individual awards valued at up to $10,000 each
  • Scholarship may be received up to four times
  • Open to students pursuing two-year or four-year degrees related to agriculture
  • Program highlights the diversity of agricultural careers beyond traditional farming

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicant must be a high school senior or currently enrolled in a two-year or four-year college program
  • Must plan to pursue a career in agriculture or an agriculture-related field such as food science, veterinary medicine, agricultural education, or ag finance
  • Must reside within Horizon Farm Credit’s territory, which includes:
    • Delaware and Washington D.C.
    • Maryland: Baltimore, Carroll, Caroline, Cecil, Dorchester, Frederick, Harford, Howard, Kent, Montgomery, Queen Anne’s, Somerset, Talbot, Washington, Wicomico, Worcester
    • Pennsylvania
    • Virginia: Accomack, Clarke, Frederick, Northampton, Page, Shenandoah, Warren
    • West Virginia: Berkeley, Brooke, Hancock, Jefferson, Marshall, Morgan, Ohio

Application Process

  1. Confirm eligibility based on residence, academic status, and intended field of study
  2. Visit the Farm Credit Foundation for Agricultural Advancement website to access the scholarship application
  3. Prepare application materials, including required essays and supporting documentation
  4. Submit the completed application by Friday, January 2nd
  5. Await notification of scholarship selection and award details

The Farm Credit Foundation for Agricultural Advancement is offering scholarships to high school seniors or those currently enrolled in a two or four year higher education program, with plans to pursue a career in agriculture. This doesn’t have to mean you’re planning to be a farmer – this also includes food scientists, veterinarians, ag teachers, or maybe even a Farm Credit loan officer! Students can receive this scholarship up to four times.
