Scarlett Family Foundation Scholarship

Scholarship Description

The Scarlett Family Foundation Scholarship supports Tennessee students pursuing business or STEM-related degrees at four-year, non-profit colleges or universities. The scholarship can be applied to tuition, fees, books, supplies, and equipment required for course load. Please note that award checks will only be made payable to your college or university. Under no circumstances will the Foundation issue a check directly to a student.

Scholarship Details

  • Open to students pursuing Business or STEM degrees
  • Available to students attending four-year, non-profit colleges or universities
  • Scholarship amounts vary based on financial need
  • Applications open from September 15th to December 15th annually

Eligibility Criteria

Scholarships are available to individuals who:

  • Have obtained a high school diploma or GED as a resident of one of the qualifying Middle Tennessee counties
  • Intend to enroll full-time as a college freshman, sophomore, junior or 4th year senior for the upcoming academic year
  • Demonstrate financial need, as determined by a 1040 tax return and the cost of tuition at the college or university you plan to attend
  • Plan to pursue a Business, Education or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) degree at a 4-year, not-for-profit college or university

For applicants who are seniors in high school, a minimum ACT score of 21 and a GPA of 2.5 or higher are required

Application Process

  1. Complete the online application form between September 15 and December 15.
  2. Submit proof of financial need via a 1040 tax return.
  3. Upload transcripts showing GPA and ACT scores.
  4. Provide additional required documents as specified in the application.

Because the Scarlett Family Foundation is a private foundation and as stated in our IRS approved charter, we are required to operate exclusively for charitable and educational purposes (according to Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986). Therefore, academic scholarships can only be awarded to educational organizations to which contributions are deductible as described in Code Section 170(c)(1) or (2).
